The real value of LapBrain emerges when you have multiple sessions at the same track. Cross-session comparison shows what's improving, what's regressing, and where to focus next.

When it unlocks

Cross-session comparison requires at least two sessions at the same track. Once you upload your second session, LapBrain automatically generates a comparison — you'll see a "NEW" badge the first time it's available.

What you'll see

In LapBrain
The debrief shows how your current session compares to previous sessions, with coaching thread status and corner-by-corner progress.

The cross-session view shows:

  • Lap time trend — your best lap times across sessions, showing your overall trajectory
  • Corner-by-corner comparison — which corners improved and which still need work
  • Coaching threadCoaching threadA specific, actionable area of improvement identified by LapBrain's analysis, such as 'trail braking in T5' or 'consistency through the esses.' status — whether previous focus items were resolved or remain active
tip

Don't just look at lap times. Corner-by-corner data often reveals improvement that hasn't shown up in lap times yet — you might be gaining half a second in one corner but losing it elsewhere. That's progress.

Coaching threads

A Coaching threadCoaching threadA specific, actionable area of improvement identified by LapBrain's analysis, such as 'trail braking in T5' or 'consistency through the esses.' tracks a specific recommendation across sessions. When LapBrain tells you to "brake later into Turn 3" in Session 1, it watches for that specific change in Session 2.

Thread states:

  • Active — the issue still exists and LapBrain is tracking it
  • Improving — the data shows measurable progress
  • Resolved — the issue is no longer present in your recent sessions

This creates a continuous improvement loop: recommendation → action → measurement → feedback.

What to do next

  1. Focus on corner deltas, not just lap times — corner-level improvement is where lasting speed comes from.
  2. Check your coaching threads — did your focused practice resolve the issue? If yes, LapBrain will surface the next highest-impact recommendation automatically.
  3. Keep riding the same track — riders who do 3+ sessions at the same track see the most from coaching threads and trend analysis. The data gets richer every session.
  4. Explore Coaching Threads for a deeper look at how LapBrain tracks your progress over time.
