LapBrain syncs directly from a RaceBox Mini S or RaceBox Micro over Bluetooth — no files to export, no computer in the loop. You connect once in the LapBrain mobile app, the device records on its own while you ride, and the app pulls your outings afterward.

tip

RaceBox sync lives in the LapBrain mobile app, because Bluetooth runs on your phone. The web app can't talk to the device — so do your RaceBox syncing from your phone or tablet, then open the web app for the full debrief.

How RaceBox sync works

A RaceBox records to its own memory while you ride. You don't keep your phone connected during the session — leave it in your pocket and let the device log on its own.

When you're back in the paddock:

  1. Open the LapBrain app and tap Sync
  2. The app finds your RaceBox and connects over Bluetooth
  3. New outings download and upload to LapBrain automatically
  4. LapBrain splits the recording into separate sessions for you — one per outing — and processing begins right away

You can also start and stop the RaceBox's recording from the app, so you don't have to fish the device out between sessions.

Sync automatically

Once you've synced a RaceBox at least once, you can turn on Sync automatically when nearby from the device's settings. After that, new outings are added to your library on their own whenever the device is nearby and the app is open. If the battery is low, automatic syncing waits until it's charging.

Supported models

  • RaceBox Mini S — recommended; connects over Bluetooth and shows its battery level while connected
  • RaceBox Micro — connects over Bluetooth and shows its input voltage while connected

The plain RaceBox Mini isn't supported. It has no onboard recording, so there's nothing to sync after a session — only the Mini S and Micro record on their own. Make sure your firmware is up to date in the official RaceBox app before your first sync.

Channels and track maps

A RaceBox is a GPS and motion logger, so every recording already carries the GPS and acceleration data LapBrain needs for track maps and corner analysis. There's no channel configuration to get right — if the device had a clear sky view, your corners and coaching will be there.
