LapBrain works with AiM data loggers including the Solo, Solo 2 DL, and EVO series. You can either sync directly from the LapBrain mobile app or export files manually.
Direct sync (recommended)
If you have the LapBrain mobile app on your phone or tablet:
- Power on your AiM logger and connect to its WiFi network
- Open the LapBrain app and tap Sync
- The app discovers your logger and downloads new sessions automatically
- Sessions upload to LapBrain and processing begins immediately
Direct sync is the fastest path from track to analysis. You can sync in the paddock right after a session — your debrief will be ready by the time you've taken your helmet off.
Manual export
If you prefer to export files from RaceStudio:
- Connect your logger to your computer via USB
- Open RaceStudio 3 and download the session
- The session file (
.xrkor.xrz) is saved to your RaceStudio data folder - In the LapBrain web app, go to Upload and select the file
Both .xrk and .xrz formats are supported — you don't need to convert between them. LapBrain automatically normalizes both formats.
Channel requirements
LapBrain requires GPS data for track map generation and corner analysis. Most AiM loggers with an internal or external GPS module will have the necessary channels.
If your session has no GPS data, LapBrain will still decode the telemetry but won't generate corner analysis or coaching recommendations. Make sure GPS is enabled in your logger's configuration.
Supported models
- Solo / Solo 2 — internal GPS, WiFi sync supported
- Solo 2 DL — internal GPS, WiFi sync supported
- EVO4 / EVO5 — requires external GPS module, USB export only
- MyChron5 — internal GPS, USB export via RaceStudio 3
What to do next
- Upload your first session — see Your First Session for what happens after upload.
- Check your GPS — if your track map looks wrong or corners aren't detected, verify GPS is enabled and has a clear sky view.
